Fox Valley Kart owner John Copeland has been passionate about karting since he saw his first race in 1968. Since that time, he has been involved at every level: racer, mechanic, promoter, engine builder, and successful karting retailer and manufacturer.

He has traveled across the USA to participate in or support races, and has also traveled to races in England and Australia. "The best part about going to kart races is meeting the people," he commented. "They're friendly, excited, and want to get the most out of their karting experience."

Fox Valley Kart has grown from a part-time basement shop to a full-time, brick-and-mortar store with a dedicated staff. With the acquisition of Fast Karts Specialty Products in 2001, Fox Valley has become a manufacturer of karting parts and accessories as well.

John divides his time between helping customers, developing new products, and the never-ending search for more performance. Insatiably curious, John is constantly exploring new avenues to squeeze a little more out of the engines bearing the Fox Valley Kart label.

John lives in Lafayette, Indiana, only two blocks from the shop, with his wife, Gail. He continues to race Vintage laydown karts, with the occasional Sprint race here and there.
